Catharanthus roseus (Madagascar Periwinkle) is a species of Catharanthus in family Apocynaceae native and endemic to Madagascar. The species is grown as ornamental and medicinal plant. It produced five petals flower that may be pink or white. The foliage of the plant is dark green. The plant got important for it's anti cancer properties. Two alkaloids vinblastine and vincristine found in Madagascar Periwinkle are used for the treatment of cancer.
